Local Development

📋 Prerequisites

Ensure you have the following before you begin:

  • Python 3.11+ (recommended)
  • uv (install globally with pip install uv)

🛠️ Setup Instructions

Follow the steps below to set up your development environment:

  1. Sync Project Dependencies

    uv sync

This installs all dependencies from pyproject.toml into a local virtual environment (.venv).

  2. Activate the Virtual Environment

    For Linux/macOS:

    source .venv/bin/activate

    For Windows (PowerShell):

    .venv\Scripts\Activate

  3. Start the MCP Inspector

    mcp dev src/universal_mcp_ms_teams/server.py

This will start the MCP inspector. Make note of the address and port shown in the console output.

About Ms Teams

How do I install Ms Teams?

Run claude mcp add ms-teams -- npx -y @anupam365/ms-teams-mcp, then add the server to your MCP client's configuration.

Is Ms Teams safe to use with an AI agent?

Its trust score is 45 out of 100 (fair). It passes 2 of the 3 static security checks run so far; the failures are listed above. It has no ConduID identity yet, so agent calls to it are not receipted.

Is Ms Teams still maintained?

The last commit was a year ago. That's long enough that you should check whether the maintainer is responding to issues before depending on it.
