Railair
European multi-rail Model Context Protocol (MCP) server — bridging AI agents with cross-border rail booking and cross-modal flight↔train disruption monitoring.
Status: preview / pre-launch · Public release planned 2026 · railair.ai
What is Railair?
Railair is the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for European multi-rail booking, designed to connect AI agents (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and others) with cross-border rail booking across Deutsche Bahn (DB), SNCF, Trenitalia, Italo, Renfe, NS, and Eurostar.
It also handles cross-modal disruption monitoring: detect a delayed flight, find the next viable train on the booked route, notify the passenger with a one-tap rebook option.
Reserved npm packages
The following npm namespaces are reserved for the Railair ecosystem:
railair-mcp— canonical MCP proxy (the package users install)railair— brand namespaceeu-rail-mcp,europe-rail-mcp,multi-rail-mcp— discovery aliases
Each package currently prints a preview notice when invoked. Public releases will follow during 2026.
Background
Built by F. Weinhappl, who also runs SwissTrip and publishes sbb-mcp — the Swiss Federal Railways MCP server, currently in active SBB Distributionsvertrag pilot (04/2026 – 04/2027).
Railair extends the SBB-MCP thesis to European cross-border rail with multi-operator coverage and AI-native disruption flows.
