About Sentry

Sentry is an MCP server published by universal-mcp in the Analytics category: mCP-Sentry is a Python-based security scanner for MCP servers and related services. It analyzes configurations and behaviors for common risks like credential leakage, SSRF, path traversal, weak authentication, transport security issues, and unvalidated input, then generates structured reports and scoring output.

Six months or more without a commit doesn't mean the server is broken, but check the open issues before depending on it in production.

Install

Claude Code
claude mcp add sentry -- npx -y @vitalyostanin/sentry-mcp
npx
npx -y @vitalyostanin/sentry-mcp

This server has no ConduID identity, so agent calls to it are not receipted. Pin the version you install and review the source before granting it credentials.

README

Sentry Universal MCP Server

This repository contains an implementation of an Sentry Universal MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. It provides a standardized interface for interacting with Sentry's tools and services through a unified API.

The server is built using the Universal MCP framework.

This implementation follows the MCP specification, ensuring compatibility with other MCP-compliant services and tools.

Usage

You can start using Sentry directly from agentr.dev. Visit agentr.dev/apps and enable Sentry.

If you have not used universal mcp before follow the setup instructions at agentr.dev/quickstart

Available Tools

The full list of available tools is at ./src/universal_mcp_sentry/README.md

Local Development

📋 Prerequisites

Ensure you have the following before you begin:

  • Python 3.11+ (recommended)
  • uv (install globally with pip install uv)

🛠️ Setup Instructions

Follow the steps below to set up your development environment:

  1. Sync Project Dependencies

    uv sync

This installs all dependencies from pyproject.toml into a local virtual environment (.venv).

  2. Activate the Virtual Environment

    For Linux/macOS:

    source .venv/bin/activate

    For Windows (PowerShell):

    .venv\Scripts\Activate

  3. Start the MCP Inspector

    mcp dev src/universal_mcp_sentry/server.py

This will start the MCP inspector. Make note of the address and port shown in the console output.

  4. Install the Application

    mcp install src/universal_mcp_sentry/server.py

Questions

About Sentry

How do I install Sentry?

Run claude mcp add sentry -- npx -y @vitalyostanin/sentry-mcp, then add the server to your MCP client's configuration.

Is Sentry safe to use with an AI agent?

Its trust score is 45 out of 100 (fair). It passes 2 of the 3 static security checks run so far; the failures are listed above. It has no ConduID identity yet, so agent calls to it are not receipted.

Is Sentry still maintained?

The last commit was a year ago. That's long enough that you should check whether the maintainer is responding to issues before depending on it.
