About App
App is an MCP server published by Parham-dev in the Developer Tools category: ๐ช Multi-app hosting platform for MCP (Model Context Protocol) Apps - Deploy AI-powered apps with beautiful UIs from a single server.
The repository has 1 stars and 0 forks, with the last commit 8 months ago. Six months or more without a commit doesn't mean the server is broken, but check the open issues before depending on it in production.
Install
git clone https://github.com/Parham-dev/mcp-appThis server has no ConduID identity, so agent calls to it are not receipted. Pin the version you install and review the source before granting it credentials.

MCP App Store ๐ช
A multi-app hosting platform for MCP (Model Context Protocol) applications. Deploy multiple AI-powered apps from a single server with shared infrastructure, security, and routing.
๐ฏ What Is This?
MCP App Store is a hosting platform that lets you:
- ๐ Deploy multiple MCP apps from a single server
- ๐ Shared API key authentication across all apps
- ๐ค๏ธ Automatic routing:
/{app-id}/mcpfor each app - ๐ฆ Single deployment to Railway/Vercel/any host
- ๐ง Easy to add new apps - just create a folder!
๐ Live Platform
Production URL: https://mcp-production-3a5e.up.railway.app
Available Apps
| App | Endpoint | Description |
|---|---|---|
| ๐ณ Recipe Remix | /recipe-remix/mcp |
AI recipe assistant with beautiful UI |
| ๐ Allocation Remix | /allocation-remix/mcp |
Dynamic resource allocation visualizer |
| ๐ PDF Insight | /pdf-insight/mcp |
AI document reader with notes and selection actions |
๐ Document Reader Vision (PDF Insight)
Goal: a scalable, client-agnostic document reader that works inside any AI host. Users can open documents, read them in-app, and use AI actions (explain, summarize, translate, annotate) with persistent memory and personalization.
MVP approach:
- Local-only storage for notes and settings
- Single-document focus with selection-based quick actions
- Build for portability, then swap the storage/auth layer
Scale-up plan:
- Supabase for auth, database, and file storage
- Multi-device sync and team collaboration
- Vector memory for semantic search across notes and documents

How Routing Works
Request: GET /recipe-remix/mcp
โ
main.ts routes to apps/recipe-remix/server.ts
โ
App handles MCP protocol (tools, resources, UI)

โ Adding a New App
-
Create app folder:
mkdir -p apps/my-new-app/src -
Create server.ts with your tools:
import { McpServer } from "@modelcontextprotocol/sdk/server/mcp.js"; export function registerTools(server: McpServer) { server.tool("my-tool", { /* schema */ }, async (params) => { // Your tool logic }); } -
Create mcp-app.tsx for the UI:
import React from "react"; export default function App({ data }) { return <div>{/* Your UI */}</div>; } -
Register in app-registry.ts:
export const apps = { "recipe-remix": { /* ... */ }, "my-new-app": { name: "My New App", description: "Does something cool", path: "./apps/my-new-app/server.ts" } }; -
Add Vite build config in vite.config.ts
-
Build and test:
npm run build npx tsx main.ts
๐ง Local Development
# Install dependencies
npm install
# Build all apps
npm run build
# Start the server
npx tsx main.ts
# Server runs at http://localhost:3001
# Apps available at http://localhost:3001/{app-id}/mcp

๐ข Deployment
Deployed on Railway with automatic builds:
railway up
Environment Variables
| Variable | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
PORT |
Server port | 3001 (Railway uses 8080) |
API_KEY |
Optional API key for auth | None (public access) |
๐ Security
- API Key Validation - Optional - set
API_KEYenv var to enable auth via?apiKey=orBearerheader - CSP Support - Apps can configure Content Security Policy for external resources
- CORS Enabled - Cross-origin requests supported for browser clients
๐จ Tech Stack
- Server: Express + MCP SDK with StreamableHTTPServerTransport
- Frontend: React 18, TypeScript, CSS Modules (plus vanilla for example-based apps)
- Icons: Lucide React (tree-shakable SVGs)
- Animations: Lottie React
- Bundler: Vite + vite-plugin-singlefile
- Deployment: Railway
- Planned: Supabase (Auth, Postgres, Storage)
๐ MCP Protocol
This platform implements the Model Context Protocol:
- Tools - Functions the AI can call (e.g.,
show-recipe) - Resources - Data/UI the AI can display
- Transports - SSE for streaming, HTTP for request/response
Each app defines its own tools and resources, the platform handles:
- Protocol negotiation
- Session management
- Authentication
- Routing
๐บ๏ธ Roadmap
- More apps (Weather, Maps, Stocks, etc.)
- App discovery endpoint
- Usage analytics
- Rate limiting
- App versioning
- PDF Insight: notes with inline save dialog (local SQLite)
- PDF Insight: test suite (Vitest โ URL helpers + DB repository)
- PDF Insight: highlights UI (DB schema ready)
- PDF Insight: configurable quick actions (summarize/translate/define)
- PDF Insight: per-profile preferences and per-document settings
- PDF Insight: Supabase-backed auth, DB, and storage
- PDF Insight: vector search across notes/documents
