Model Context Protocol (MCP)

NuBerea provides an MCP server that allows AI clients to securely access NuBerea’s theological tools.

Using MCP, assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, or custom agents can interact with NuBerea’s research capabilities as structured tools.

Claude Code plugin marketplace

This repository follows Claude Code's marketplace layout:

• .claude-plugin/marketplace.json defines the marketplace catalog.
• plugins/nuberea/.claude-plugin/plugin.json defines the NuBerea plugin.

Install from GitHub

1. Add the Nuberea marketplace

claude plugin marketplace add streamsapps/nuberea-mcp

To share the marketplace with a repository instead of your user profile, add --scope project.

2. Install the Nuberea plugin

claude plugin install nuberea@nuberea

3. Start Claude Code

4. Authenticate Nuberea

Inside Claude Code, run:

/mcp

Select nuberea and complete the authentication flow.

5. Test Nuberea

Try a prompt such as:

Use Nuberea to look up John 1:1 in Greek and summarize the lexical notes.

Updating

Refresh the marketplace catalog and update the installed plugin:

claude plugin marketplace update nuberea
claude plugin update nuberea

Restart Claude Code after updating so the new plugin version is loaded.

Uninstalling

claude plugin uninstall nuberea
claude plugin marketplace remove nuberea

Troubleshooting

List configured marketplaces:

claude plugin marketplace list

List installed plugins:

claude plugin list

Check whether the MCP server is connected:

claude mcp list

Or inside Claude Code:

/mcp

If Nuberea shows Needs authentication, run /mcp, select nuberea, and complete authentication.

If authentication succeeds but reconnection fails, restart Claude Code.

NuBerea MCP uses token-based authentication with refresh tokens to maintain secure, long-lived sessions for AI clients.
